One Room Challenge Week 3
More storage solutions
It’s week three and we’re all about storage over here. It’s the one part I can keep organized while the rest of the kitchen is in chaos.
One of the things that keep me sane are making sure that everything has it’s designated place. Something that has always been an issue is that our fridge is overflowing (nothing to complain about really, but still disorganized) So, I decided to bring in a small second fridge from Build.com and after browsing their large selection chose the Edgestar beverage center. I love the glass door and wooden shelves. This frees up so much space in our other fridge and it looks great!
Another item I brought in was this console from Nadeau. It’s nice using regular furniture that maybe wasn’t intended for a kitchen because it adds some character and look at those cane doors! This console will hold all of our hurricane emergency food. It’s great to keep those things separate from our everyday food so we don’t accidentally go through it all… (Tim I’m looking at you)
Something else I’ve been playing around with is adjusting shelving height in our cupboards, such a simple thing that makes a big difference. I used to have all of the shelves somewhat evenly spaced but by creating a few smaller areas between shelves it saves a ton of room for smaller items and just makes sense! I’m also a huge fan of putting anything that I can into air tight containers, not only does is look good but it keeps any unwanted pests out.
Well, this was a brief one but next week much bigger changes are happening and I’m looking forward to sharing it all here!
